## GuardDog

GuardDog is a supply-chain security scanner built for AI-assisted coding. It vets every package before it's installed (license, known vulnerabilities, maintenance health) and scans every file an AI coding assistant writes or edits (secrets, injection, unsafe deserialization, and more) — automatically, through the assistant you already use, with no separate dashboard.

- Free to run: the full static scanner (`guarddog scan`) and the automatic pre-install/post-edit checks require no API key or subscription.
- Works with Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
- Runs natively on macOS and Linux; on Windows, install and run it inside WSL.
- Install: `curl -fsSL https://byteowl-guarddog-releases.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/guarddog-setup.sh | sh`
- Optional paid tier, GuardDog Advanced, adds AI-model review for unattended runs like CI — everything else is free.
